Hello Admitted Students!
George Mason’s Trial Advocacy Association is an active campus organization that hosts competitions for GMU Law students and outside law students from across the country. It’s a great way to simulate civil and criminal trials, get coached by lawyers and judges in the local Virginia and D.C. area, and explore your interest in litigation. Students can get involved their first semester of law school by volunteering for Mason’s Thacher competition as a witness, and continue volunteering for the spring Costello competition until tryouts second semester 1L year.
Involvement doesn’t need to stop there! You can even compete at national competitions hosted by other schools or groups, and become a member of the Association’s Executive Board. Even if you are not interested in litigation it is a great way to network with local practitioners and judges. Furthermore, we travel to competitions all across the country. Feel free to check out our Facebook page for more info at GMU Trail Advocacy Association.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at gmusltrialad@gmail.com and we look forward to seeing you on campus.
