September 25, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm

placeholder image 2

Come join Mason Law Disability Initiative for an interactive discussion on how facility dogs are commonly used within the legal profession. Joining us virtually from Wilmington, N.C. will be New Hanover and Pender County DA Ben David with his very own special K9 companion, Crisis Response Facility Dog POTTER; as well as Special Guest Kaitlin Bellamy of paws4people foundation. Learn everything from what a facility dog is, how to get one, and listen to DA David’s own experiences utilizing one both in his office and in the courtroom to support victims and allow them to testify with less anxiety. This event will be held primarily in-person with lunch provided. The Microsoft Teams link provided will allow anyone who can’t be on campus but would like to attend to do so virtually. For more information, please see the flyer.
