A Presidential Investiture at George Mason University Special Event

Join the Arlington Campus Community in celebrating the Investiture of Dr. Gregory Washington as Mason’s eighth president at our upcoming “President on the Plaza” event. All students, staff, faculty, and Arlington community members are invited to Founders Plaza for a picnic lunch where we will greet Dr. and Mrs. Washington with fanfare, music, and an afternoon of overall celebration. Wear your Mason Green and Gold, your dancing shoes, and bring your appetite!

We will be collecting items for the Patriot Pantry and Transgender Closet at the event.

Event participants must complete Mason COVID Health Check and receive a “green light” status on the day of the event. Event organizers must perform a spot check of roughly 20 percent of attendees to verify a green status during check-in.

University administration is closely monitoring the status of COVID-19 and the impact of variants. To maintain safety for all, event plans may be modified if circumstances warrant.
