Animal Legal Defense Fund: Days End Farm Horse Rescue Tour

April 9, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

GMU SALDF Event Flyer, 4/9/22 event

GMU Law School’s student chapter of the Animal Legal Defense Fund cordially invites you and your guest to join us for a special tour of Days End Farm Horse Rescue on Saturday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m.  Days End, established in 1989, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure quality care and treatment of equines through intervention, education and outreach.  As a premier all-breed rescue, Days End is a leader and model in the field of equine rescue and rehabilitation, humane and experiential educational programing, community outreach, animal disaster recovery and supporting the legal process of equine cruelty cases through ongoing documentation of evidence, responsibility of cost of care, training and consultation for law enforcement and lawyers, testimony at trial and transfer of custody.

Please join us for a special free tour of Days End’s main facility in Woodbine, Maryland, which is an hour northwest of DC.  You must RSVP in advance to reserve a spot; we are already half-full. This opportunity is open to law school students, faculty and staff in the Washington area. Your guests, including children, are also welcome; sorry, no dogs.

So often, livestock are an afterthought in relation to animal cruelty laws, deemed unworthy of protection from mistreatment. Visit Days End and see how equines make the most of their second-chance journey.  For more information or to RSVP, please contact Rob Blizard at [email protected]. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. GMU COVID event procedures will apply.
