DESCRIPTION:ACS\, OutLaw\, If/When/How\, and PAD Present: Esteemed attorney and transgender rights maverick D Dangaran for an invigorating and lively discussion about the breakthroughs in gender-affirming care and the upcoming SCOTUS case U.S. v. Skrmetti. D is the Director of Gender Justice at Rights Behind Bars\, has argued federal appeals cases\, and has litigated in federal district courts on behalf of incarcerated people. They specialize in helping incarcerated trans people access necessary gender-affirming care. D is a Filipino-Black non-binary trans femme/fairy hailing from and rooted in Wahiawā\, Hawai‘i. They are a first-generation graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School and a former clerk on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. D currently serves as the co-chair of the National Trans Bar Association. Shawarmas will be served\, with a vegan (falafel) option available.
