SUMMARY:George Mason Name Change Clinic
DESCRIPTION:OutLaw is happy to announce it is partnering with the Virginia LGBTQ+ Bar Association (formerly the Virginia Equality Bar Association)\, BaryLaw\, and the George Mason University LGBTQ+ Resource Center to host another Gender Marker and Name Change Clinic on September 14\, 2024. \nIf you are seeking FREE assistance with name change applications\, administrative and judicial petitions for gender marker changes\, birth certificate corrections\, DMV and social security record updates\, DD214 updates (military discharge records)\, voter registration changes\, and answering related legal questions\, we invite you to sign up for an appointment. Clinic appointments will start at 1:00 p.m! \nIf you are a law student or VA licensed attorney and would like to volunteer\, please sign up to volunteer. The training is expected to be approved for two hours of MCLE credit. Training begins at 10:00 a.m. The precise location will be shared in the final event reminder emails. Following the training\, lunch will be provided courtesy of OutLaw. \nIf you have any questions or you would like to volunteer but do not have transportation to and from George Mason University’s Fairfax campus\, please contact Mack Freilich at (outlaw@gmu.edu) so that OutLaw can assist you with transportation arrangements.
