Voter Protection Trainings

In October, the Civil Rights Law Journal is co-sponsoring four voter protection trainings at the law school. These trainings are designed to ensure that every eligible voter is able to cast a ballot in Virginia. Because voting is a fundamental civil right, and one of CRLJ’s purposes is to provide a forum for the discussion of civil rights issues, we signed on to co-sponsor the voter protection trainings. The trainings specifically train law students and lawyers to serve as poll observers in polling places all across the Commonwealth. Poll observers help ensure that election laws are properly observed, that voters are processed efficiently, and that nothing disrupts Virginia voters’ access to the ballot box.

Attached is a flyer that provides more details for the trainings. Participation is completely optional. Please note that if you are interested in participating, you only need to attend one two-hour training. If you have any questions about the trainings, feel free to reach out to Brooke.
